Forward modelling code

This section primarily contains program code for the simulation of seismic waveforms in different settings. Highly efficient implementations for seismic wave propagation in 1D structures are provided as well as computationally demanding numerical solvers for full 3D heterogeneity. Simulation tools of other data (e.g. travel-times or surface wave dispersion) useful in the context of seismic full waveform inversion are welcome too.

Programs
Title Short description
3D seismic wave propagation through spherical sections
SPECFEM3D simulates seismic wave propagation in sedimentary basins or any other regional geological model.
SOFI2D and SOFI3D stands for Seismic mOdeling with FInite differences and denotes our 2-D and 3-D viscoelastic time domain massive parallel modeling code.

Gemini II is a program package to calculate exact Green's functions for the elastic wave equation in one-dimensional, isotropic or transversely isotropic, depth dependent media. Applications of the code range from high-frequency, small-scale wave propagation problems like ultrasonic waves, seam waves and shallow seismics to continental-scale seismic waves from earthquakes.
